Chess Tactics Training

Rapid Chess Improvement Is Chess Tactics Training

The advice of masters to players who want to improve is almost unanimous: study tactics. Our ChessCalisthenics system is based on the premise that the easiest way to study tactics is to replay combinations. Take it on faith that your game will improve dramatically if you maintain a regimen of reviewing combinations. If you are not a strong player, we don't recommend finding tactics problems and "solving" them.

Our ChessCalisthenics system will provide you with the opportunity to familiarize yourself with tactical themes that tend to repeat. The exercises are not available anywhere else in the fashion presented here. At your disposal is a tool to facilitate your chess development.

To belabor the point, nothing beats replaying combinations. This holds true for most, and includes the best class-level, tournament players. The player who invests this time will become more comfortable with the layout of the board and the interaction of the pieces. This player will acquire the ability to quickly assess the tactical possibilities in a given position and will be better suited to appreciate positional nuances.

These abilities are also the foundation for appreciating annotated games. Our site affords you the opportunity to replay combinations and to browse through many games with annotated positions.
